One Month Of Streaming: What Have I Learned?

Hello friends!

Yes, indeed you read the title correctly, I have been streaming an entire month now! So what have I learnt so far hmmmm...

1) Everyone is so friendly!

The Twitch community is amazing. Everyone I have met so far has shown me nothing but unbelievable kindness and support. Watching streams has become my number one form of entertainment, I can walk into a stream just to watch and come out with 100 friends in chat!

2) Numbers? What are those?

During my time in the Twitch community I have never felt below anyone else, and I've never felt like someone is just trying to befriend me to step on me to get to the top. I've never been ignored because I don't have enough subs to be considered worth anyone's time. It is so heart-warming to see.

3) Streaming is HARD.

While I much prefer being a broadcaster over being a content creator on YouTube, its hard. Getting the right schedule to suit everyone, playing games you and enjoy and so do your viewers, trying to stay positive and upbeat even when you are talking to yourself because the chat has died and everyone has left. It's tough! but despite that I still love every second of my streams.

What am I still learning?

I have a REALLY bad habit of comparing myself to others and critiquing myself based on what others have achieved and I have not. I even created a feedback survey within two weeks of being a Twitch Broadcaster to try and improve my streams and channel overall. The only constructive suggestions I got for improvements were more games and longer streams. I was fully expecting a barrage of complaints and things people didn't like about me, one thing I need to work on is accepting that maybe I myself am good enough. While improvements are good, I shouldn't never feel like I need to change myself to please others.

Its only been a month and I still have a lot to learn but what I have learnt so far has been so refreshing and positive! I'm excited for what December holds!
